Shoo, it has been a while since I blogged. I really have missed it and am determined to get back into it.
Although I haven’t been blogging I have been a very busy little bee – I’m so sorry I have left you out of the loop! But without further ado I will get you up to speed in this one blog.
I’ve never been entirely happy with the layout of my website and my logo so I’ve been working on that for some time now and I think I am nearly there. I have finally designed a logo I’m happy with and have finished designing how I would like my Home page to look. Now all that is left is to find someone that can turn my digital design into reality – technodad?!
What do you think of the new banner?
I’ve also finished designing my business cards and am about to send off for printing but would love to know what you think of them?! I’m still a little ‘ify’ on the slogan so any great suggestions are most welcome!
In between brainstorming for a ‘new look’ for Dindindies, I have been thinking of ways to promote what I love to do and how I can add that trendy touch to any special occassion without having to wait for real events and real photos. So I decided the best way was to design Inspiration Boards! Inspiration Boards are where I put pen-to-paper or shall I say hand-to-mouse! To keep this blog semi-short and to keep you coming back (hee hee), I will show you an example Inspiration Board soon!
Right, now on to one of my more recent projects, I was invited to a friend’s baby shower where it was baby number 2! Knowing that she is having another boy I knew she wouldn’t need clothes but would need the essentials like nappies! Who wants to give their special friend a packet full of nappies huh? That is when Diaper Cakes sprung to mind but I wanted to do something different to just the plain cake – Diaper Cakes are becoming more and more popular these days. So after searching the Interweb I came across a Diaper Trike – genius! What more would you want for a little boys baby shower. So using this link (http://www.diapercakesbuzz.com/tricycle-diaper-cake/) I started working on my masterpiece.
I have to admit that there were times I didn’t think it was going to work as I was using fleece blankets instead of flannel (do you think I could find ANY pretty/cool flannel blankets anywhere?!). The fleece was quite thick so it was a real challenge putting it through the nappies and tying it together but with determination and a little (a lot) bit of help from the husband we got there in the end!
I have to say I am very pleased how this turned out and I had one very happy friend. What a special, different way to give someone something so basic yet essential. Would love to know what you think and if you attempt one would love to see how yours turns out!
Ok, so I was going to move on to my recent ‘Real Event’ but I think I should maybe leave that for its own special blog so watch this space!
Have I mentioned that I am happy to be back?
