Baby Shower Games

Planning a baby shower and in need of game ideas? I've rounded up a few of the best baby shower games to help with your baby shower-planning.

If you would like any of the cards needed for these games contact me directly and I will be happy to design these to match your baby shower theme.

Don't say 'Baby'!

Don't say 'Baby'!

Don't Say 'Baby': Mum’s the word when it comes to saying ‘baby’! Get this great icebreaker started the moment your guests walk through the door. As you greet each guest, give them a diaper pin or dummy necklace. Once all of your guests have arrived, tell everyone that they can’t say ‘baby’ for the duration of the shower (or until it’s time to open presents). If anyone hears someone else saying the forbidden word, he or she can steal the rule breaker’s pin or necklace. At the end of the game, the person with the most pins wins a gift.

What's In the Bag

What's In the Bag

Baby Items in Bag: Keep guests guessing with this practical game. Put at least ten common, useful baby items inside a diaper bag; a bib, teething ring, rattle, bottle and diaper are just a few goodies that are also fairly inexpensive. Give each guest a pen and paper before passing the diaper bag around. Without looking, each person should stick a hand inside the bag and identify as many items as possible. Give each two minutes to feel around and make their guesses before moving the bag to the next person. Once everyone has had a turn, find out who had the most correct answers. The winner gets a prize and the parents-to-be get the diaper bag filled with baby essentials!

Guess The Baby Food

Guess The Baby Food

Guess The Baby Food: If you've ever thought that baby food in jars looks less like the ‘peas’ or ‘carrots’ they claim to be and more like mush, this is the game for you! Gather seven to ten unique flavours of baby food jars, number each lid and tear off the labels. Ask each guest to grab a spoon and start sampling! The guest with the keenest taste buds wins a prize for getting the most correct.

Bump Measurement

Bump Measurement

Bump Measurement: Pass around a ball of yarn and a pair of scissors. Tell each guest to cut off a length of string that they think corresponds to the size of mum-2-be’s belly (make sure no one is cheating by measuring their own or a friend’s waist!). When everyone has a piece of string, invite each person up to try his or her luck measuring the mum-to-be’s belly. Whoever has a string that comes closest to being a perfect measurement, wins.

Baby Bingo

Baby Bingo

Baby Bingo: Give each guest a card, in addition you also need the list of the bingo items and cut them into the individual squares - each square with one word on it. Put the squares into a small box and draw them out one at a time, reading the word out loud. Each guest needs to find the word on their card and mark it. You draw out all the other items until someone fills in a row (vertically, horizontally or diagonally) and yells "BINGO!"

Word Scrammble

The Price is Right

The Price is Right

Baby Price Is Right: Buy 10 to 12 baby items you think the parents-to-be will need. Use blank note cards to write the price of each item on one side, and the item itself on the other. Gather guests together and play it just like the TV show: each guest must guess the price of the items on the cards, and the person with the highest total—without going over—wins. Best of all, the parents-to-be get to keep the handy baby items used for the game.

Diaper Raffle

Diaper Raffle

Diaper Raffle:  This simple game is such an amazing gift for the parents-to-be. Include a note with your baby shower invitations letting guests know that you’ll be raffling off an amazing surprise prize at the baby shower. All they have to do to get a raffle ticket is bring a pack of diapers with them—and the more diapers they bring, the more raffle tickets they get!
