My very talented friend Filipa over at Gourmet Mum recently made this beautiful 3 tier wedding cake for a friends wedding.
She put so much thought and hours of love (and like 100 eggs!) in to this cake and should be very proud of the result - considering wedding cake making is not something she does regularly!
Three tiers covered with white buttercream, slightly textured using a pallet knife and white chocolate drip covered in iridescent gold edible paint.
Each tier was a different cake to reflect the personalities of the bride and groom. The first tier was ginger and lemon, a nod to the grooms' West Indian roots. Second tier was a Victorian sponge with jam made from Haribo Goldbears - the brides favourite sweets! **Check out this article on how to make jam from gummy bears** The final tier was a peri-chocolate brownie cake, a symbol of their love for Nando's - hence the cute little Nando style chicken bride and groom!
The cake was topped with one of our sparkly gold cake toppers - Mr & Mrs Stevens!
