As promised, here are a few snaps of the vintage style tea party we had a couple of Saturdays ago.
I made some 1940's inspired sandwiches which was peanut-butter & apricot jam and watercress & cumcumber - surprisingly both combinations worked really well!
Couldn't have a tea party without scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream - not sure the scones in the 1940's were quite like this though.
I also made my very first homemade lemonade which went down a real treat. I didn't realise it was so simple yet so tasty. Here is the recipe I used BBC GoodFood.
I also made the little birds you see on each glass out of vintage paper, which I think just finished the table off and seemed to be nice little keepsakes for the ladies to take home with them.
I will be posting some prices up in my Etsy shop soon for a pack of 12 paper birds but please contact me if you would like a price sooner. I am also designing other 'glass accessories' so watch this space!
You can also find the Vintage Style Tea Party invitation in my Etsy shop as a digital download, where you can print and cut it yourself.
