TUTORIAL TUESDAY: {DIY} Treat Cones

Treat Cones are such a fun way to display popcorn, candy or other goodies at a party. They’re easy to make and can be tailored to pretty much any party theme or colour palette of your choice!

Here is a Treat Cone I quickly made last night (couldn’t resist after putting this tutorial together!).

DIY details:
What You Will Need:
Decorative paper
Lollipop/Kebab sticks
Styrofoam sheets – approx 2.5cm thick
Shallow tray or vase/container
Treats for the cones
Candy/treats to cover the styrofoam
Tape, glue stick & scissors
DIRECTIONS:
For the Paper Cones:
1.Cut a square out of your decorative paper (for the one I prepared last night I cut a 150mm x 150mm square)
2.Roll the trimmed paper into a cone shape, making sure to keep one of the pointed edges as your top tip.
3. Leave enough of a hole left in the bottom of the cone for the lollipop/Kebab stick. Secure the cone shape with a piece of tape on the inside, and use glue to make the outer edge lie flat.
For the Party Display boxes:
1.Cut a piece of the styrofoam/polystyrene/kaylite sheet to fit securely within your tray or vase/container.
2.Place the styrofoam/polystyrene/kaylite in the container, then insert the sticks into the foam, leaving a few inches in between the sticks to make room for the cones. (You can insert the sticks in neat rows or in a random configuration – whichever you prefer!)
3.Pour candy or popcorn on top of the styrofoam/polystyrene/kaylite until it is completely covered.
4.Fill each paper cone with candy, popcorn, or another treat, then slide them onto the lollipop sticks.
***You could also secure the stick onto the cone using tape in the inside before pushing through styrofoam/polystyrene/kaylite and then fill cones ones all displayed***
